welcome
to Notes for Peace!
Notes for Peace is a non-profit organization that aims to bring Jewish and Arab youth together through music and art education initiatives in order to promote tolerance, understanding, and mutual respect. Notes for Peace began in 2007 at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music. We are currently developing projects both in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and in the United States.

NEW! Announcing the First Interfaith Notes for Peace Alternative Spring Break to Israel!

This March, spend a week doing arts-related community service, participating in dialogue programs, and gaining the skills to be advocates for peace, all the while having the experience of a lifetime! Join Jewish and Arab young citizens of Israel in places like Jerusalem, Akko, and Haifa, from kindergartners to college students. The goal is to bring people together, and work towards a better future for everyone.

It's taking place March 12th-20th, 2009. For more details, check out the flyer. Applications for the 2009 Interfaith Alternative Spring Break are now closed. We had an overwhelming response to this trip--we hope in future years we can expand the scope so that everyone can go!

For questions, and to see a proposed itinerary, e-mail andrewzakim@gmail.com. We also need help funding the trip! If you are interested in helping send 10 students to make a difference in Israel, send us an e-mail, or click "Donate Online" or "Contribute"!

Please note, the Notes for Peace Interfaith Spring Break to Israel is in no way or form affiliated or funded by New York University, the Tisch School of the Arts, or the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music. Please direct all inquiries to Notes for Peace and not NYU.
